“It is a very competitive world out there”, so I was warned. This warning when I was studying in the University of Baguio holds true till now. What I am amazed though is that, as a UBian, it is natural to thrive and flourish in your career even in this competitive world. After all, our UB vision looks forward in the pursuit of perfection and excellence. Life is not always easy and fair, but knowing that the education, training and honing I received from my Alma Mater prepared me for whatever challenges ahead of my career. The skill sets, tools and discipline I gained during those years in my study were the same skill sets, tools and discipline I use to thrive regardless of which industry calls my expertise. My years in UB is one of my cherished memories where rigor meets life balance. I was a working student, consistent dean’s list and academic scholar, glee club member, student body officer, and a school paper contributor – all these experiences prepared me to be truly global, a hallmark of a UBian.
