Alumni Spotlight: PBGEN Jezebel D. Medina, DMD

A daughter of Sabangan, Mountain Province, PBGEN, Jezebel D. Medina, DMD is from the School of Dentistry. In 1991, she finished her Doctor of Dental Medicine and went on to join the Philippine National Police. She’s held several key positions during her time with the PNP, such as Chief of the Bohol Police Provincial Office Medical and Dental team, PNP Health Service Deputy Director, Regional Chief of the Regional Medical and Dental Unit 3, and District Chief of the Medical and Dental Unit for NCR.

She’s spearheaded numerous public programs to provide quality health services to the marginalized sector, indigent groups, and minority ethnic communities. Programs such as “Bagong Ngiti sa dating Bungi”, “Serbisyong may Ngiti para sa Pambansang Pulisya”, “One Time Bigtime Pangkalusugan Program”, “OPLAN Tokhang Pangkalusugan”, and the “Kalinga ni Ina, Abot ng Makakaya” all sought to improve the accessibility of health services for the underprivileged members of the community.

She has been recognized as the Dental Officer of the Year, Best Regional Administrative Support Unit Chief, and has been presented the Outstanding Regional Service Unit award. In December 2022, she received a distinguished STAR for her performance and the services rendered by her unit in providing health and community service.

PBGEN Medina has had a long and storied career of serving her community. Her many achievements are indicative of her unwavering dedication to making dental health care readily accessible to those in need. She is an upstanding example of a University of Baguio graduate, embodying the strong ethics and values that drive alumni to serve their communities and make a positive difference in the world.
