Born in San Juan, Ilocos Sur on December 27, 1967, Alfredo V. Corpuz is from the School of Natural Sciences. A graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology degree, he has since gone on to further study and earn various other degrees such as Bachelor of Sacred Theology, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Arts in Education, Master of Arts in Nursing, and Master of Science in Medical Technology. He continues his studies to the present day, pursuing a degree as a Doctor of Public Health.
Aside from his brilliant academic career, he is also active in community service, holding key roles in the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists and the Philippine Society for Microbiology. His dedication to upholding research ethics has also led to him accrediting Research Ethics Committees for several different institutions.
His propensity for research is a reflection of his dedication to advancement. His studies explore topics such as exploring the potential of fruit peel extracts for microorganism isolation to investigating bactericidal properties of natural extracts. His accomplishments have led him to be named the “Faculty Member of the Year 2021” of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP). He has also been a regional and national awardee for his role as a mentor in health research.
Mr. Corpuz and his continued pursuit of academic excellence are a testament to his passion and unwavering commitment to being a lifelong learner. His dedication to research and contributions to the scientific community serve as inspirations to those in the field of Natural Sciences, fostering the spirit of outstanding performance and the continued pursuit of perfection in and outside of the academe.
