An alumna of the School of Nursing, Dr. Anachris Kilakil graduated with the distinction of Cum Laude. She continued her studies as a scholar of the Department of Health, graduating from the College of Medicine and holding a Master’s degree in Public Management majoring in Health Leadership and Governance Program.
She has pursued a career in government health, serving as medical officer II in Antipolo and as Municipal Health Officer in a 5th-class municipality in Abra under the Doctor to the Barrio (DTTB) program. During her time, she undertook the responsibilities of mobilizing resources and establishing integral partnerships with health organizations. She also pursued a career in the Health Leadership and Governance Program of the Zuellig Family Foundation.
Continuing her service in public health, she became a part of the regional office of the Department of Health, leading the Provincial/City Operations Team for the DOH-CAR COVID-19 Task Force in 2020 and 2021. She was also a part of the Regional Vaccination Operations Center in 2021 and 2022, facilitating the communication, dissemination, and implementation of the COVID-19 Vaccination program on a regional, provincial, city, and municipal level. Her efforts led to the region being recognized as having the highest vaccination coverage on a national level for those with co-morbidities. The region was also among the top 5 regions in the Philippines with the highest overall vaccination coverage.
Dr. Kilakil is unwavering in her dedication to ensuring that the public health sector can cope with current issues and offer accessible healthcare services to the community. She embodies the essence of an empowered professional, demonstrating the competence and compassion of a UB graduate that allows them to work in the service of bettering the community.
