The medical technology community has seen numerous trailblazers who have pushed the boundaries of dedication, leadership, and service. Among them stands Mr. Diego Ofiaza, an alumnus of the University of Baguio Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, whose notable career has recently been adorned with two prestigious recognitions.
As a former President of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists (PAMET) Baguio Chapter, Mr. Ofiaza has long been recognized for his exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to the profession. Currently, he is serving as the Chief Medical Technologist of the clinical laboratory at the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital & Medical Center. His contributions to healthcare and diagnostics have made a permanent mark on the community.
Early this year, Mr. Diego’s exemplary work was nationally acknowledged when he received the Professional Regulation Commission’s (PRC) recognition as the Most Outstanding Professional in Medical Technology. This honor highlights his dedication to upholding the highest standards of ethical practice and professionalism in this field.
Adding to this milestone, Mr. Ofiaza was also named the 2024 Most Outstanding Medical Technologist during the 60th Annual Convention of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists. This was held at the historic Manila Hotel last December 2 to 4, 2024.
These awards reflect a lifetime of commitment, skill, and service. Mr. Ofiaza’s achievements will serve as a beacon of inspiration for medical technologists across the nation, reminding them of the profound impact their work has on the healthcare system and the lives of countless patients.
