The University of Baguio welcomed back its alumni with open arms at the Red and White Gala and Awards Night that took place at the New Town Plaza Convention Center on September 9, 2023.
Dozens of guests dressed to the nines in their suits and gowns attended the event, enjoying an evening of fine dining and socialization in commemoration of the university’s 75th founding anniversary. With the theme, ‘Celebrating 75 years of Tatay and Nanay’s legacy’, the gala honored six decades of exceptional academic performance and community service rendered by the university’s esteemed graduates from its different departments.
Among the esteemed graduates and guests were the Outstanding Alumni awardees recognized by the University of Baguio Alumni Foundation Inc. (UBAFI) for their exemplary achievements in their fields of profession as well as their significant contributions in helping to serve the community.
From entrepreneurs to public servants, the thirteen awardees were all commended for their professional feats and the services they have rendered in helping their respective communities.
Embodying the pursuit of academic excellence and the university’s mission of educating empowered professionals, the thirteen awardees took to the stage to receive their commemorative plaques from UBAFI president Engr. Eleazer Demayo.
The awardees included Jessie James Llamado from the School of Business Administration and Accountancy, JSINSP Bartolome Tresmanio from the School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety, Engr. Joseph Parinas from the School of Engineering and Architecture, Adrian Fernandez from the School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management, Lou Philip Beltran from the School of Information Technology, Alfredo Corpuz from the School of Natural Sciences, PBGEN Jezebel Medina from the School of Dentistry, Atty. Nerissa Bayan from the School of Law, Dr. Anachris Kilakil from the School of Nursing, Dr. Mark Preston Lopez from the School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts, Angela Betsaida Laguipo from the University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School, Mildred Dacuycuy from the University of Baguio High School, and Judge Isagani Calderon from the University of Baguio Science High School.
Nine nominees were also given awards by the UBAFI for their significant academic achievements and community engagement.
The nominees included Atty. Ana Dione from the school of Business Administration and Accountancy, PCol Jonathan Calixto from the School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety, Dr. Eduardo Solis from the school of Engineering and Architecture, Rona Banzuela-Correa from the School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management, Harlene Ganggangan and Jessica Mae Domasin from the School of Nursing, and Ivan James Layugan, Abigail Gilpo, and Kevin Liban from the School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts.
