The University of Baguio once again opened its doors to welcome back its esteemed alumni for this year’s Alumni Homecoming.
A highly anticipated event led by the University of Baguio Alumni Foundation Inc. (UBAFI) and supported by the Linkages Office, the occasion brings together graduates from different batches and departments to strengthen ties within the community and build a supportive network through a series of fun activities. This year’s homecoming took place on September 19 and 20, 2025 (Friday and Saturday) and featured five events in total.
The event hosted a lively array of alumni, administrators, faculty, staff, and students, over 500 participants in total across the different activities, who all came together to celebrate the occasion. The community was graced by the spectacular performances from the UB Orchestra and the Plug and Play Band, members of the UB Performing Arts, who filled the event with music, movement, and joy.

The celebrations kicked off with the Move to Wellness: Zumba Session during the early morning of the first day. A total of 68 alumni participated in the fitness activity, joining UB’s mission to promote healthy practices and activities as well as overall wellness within the community. At around the same time, the Golf Fellowship event was also taking place at the Pinewoods Golf and Country Club, with around 68 registrants in total. Beyond just a platform for showcasing their exceptional athletic skill, the tournament promoted friendly competition and professional networking.

Over the course of the two-day itinerary, the university also opened the Campomanes Plaza for the Alumni Inspire Market Encounter, where a total of 23 concessionaires showcased their products and businesses, highlighting the robust entrepreneurial spirit of UB’s graduates. During the afternoon, the event shifted into the Alumni Wine and Cheese Night. A total of 89 registrants attended the event, sharing stories, renewing connections, and fostering new relationships with one another over a pleasant afternoon and early evening of fine drinks and dairy delicacies.

This year’s Alumni Homecoming embodied UB’s dedication to taking care of its alumni even long after graduation, allowing them to touch base with their roots and remain connected to a genuine community that has and will continue to support them. It also promoted the university’s pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, namely:
- Goal No. 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions – by nurturing a close-knit community among the graduates, faculty, non-teaching staff, and current students, the University of Baguio continues to promote strong institutions that are able to support its members at every stage in their development, career, and life,
- Goal No. 3: Good Health and Well-being – holding wellness events such as the morning zumba session and active sports like the golf fellowship promotes exercise and healthy practices within the UB community.
- Goal No. 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – the marketplace allowed locally-run businesses to showcase their services and goods, providing alumni entrepreneurs the platform to boost their visibility, create more income-generating opportunities, and stimulate the local economy through its support for small and locally-owned enterprises, and
- Goal No. 17: Partnerships for the Goals – overall, the event continues to facilitate a rich and dynamic collaborative relationship between the university and its alumni, as well as their organizations and businesses. This supports a strong communication and resource network that allows the university to maintain and develop its sustainable growth.

This year’s Alumni Homecoming would not have been possible without the steadfast leadership of the president of the University of Baguio Alumni Foundation, Inc. (UBAFI), Engr. Eleazer Demayo, and the efforts of the Board of Directors. Special shoutout as well to the Linkages Office and the School Alumni Relations Coordinators (SARC) for their active involvement and efforts to make this event a success.
Through the continued support of wellness, sport, enterprise, and community-driven connection, this year’s Alumni Homecoming continues to reaffirm that, no matter where their journeys may take them, the UB alumni will always find their way back home.
